
The open online discussion of the experience of conducting hackathons and startup competitions in the SMILE project and other EIT HEI Initiative projects was held on December 22, 2023.
More than a hundred people registered to participate in the event, 70% of participants were representatives of universities.
The event’s purpose is to discuss the existing experience of conducting student hackathons in the context of the formation of innovative communities based on Ukrainian universities and the role of business partners in further promoting the best startups.
During the event, EIT HEI Initiative project teams SMILE, DISCO, DEEP INVENTHEI, InterHEI, and REGINNA4.0 presented their experience in supporting startups and holding hackathons.
The participants were also very interested in information about the EIT RIS scheme and the expected actions of the EIT communities in support of Ukrainian organizations.
The participants agreed to continue communication regarding tools for supporting startups in Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Weightlifting Company LLC plans to hold its hackathon for Ukrainian students based on the experience this company gained from participating in the SMILE hackathon.
