The aim of the project was the socio-economic development of the City of Sambir by supporting the functioning of micro-enterprises and establishing economic contacts with Poland, which will improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
As part of the project activities, in the first stage, the Center for Supporting Entrepreneurship and Cooperation with Poland was established, which in the second stage was incorporated as a base unit in the Sambir Development Agency. The Agency is an advisory and training point established to support small business, mainly micro-enterprises, promoting entrepreneurs, organizing economic contacts with Poland and, in the future, providing financial support. It is also an information point for potential investors.
As part of the project, a specialist for entrepreneurship and cooperation with Poland was trained. The specialist’s training took place through a study visit to Poland and a short-term internship in business support institutions in the Podkarpacie region. He purchased computer equipment, a multifunction device (printer, photocopier), fax and telephone. The Basic Business Conduct Course materials were developed and the first edition of the pilot course was conducted. A Polish-Ukrainian team of experts developed documents establishing the Agency and the assumptions for the functioning of financial support institutions. In addition, study visits to Poland for animators of economic life in Sambir were organized, as part of which there were visits to enterprises with the possibility of discussing the conditions of running a business, training and meetings with people from business environment institutions in Podkarpacie.
